I think it may take the kind of electoral thumping that Gingrich would likely suffer to cure the GOP of its delusional nature- and I think that is a necessary prerequisite for any progress. <br /><br />I see the points you make in your theoretical Obama speech, but I think that if he gave that speech, he'd be politically finished. It would be the equivalent of Carter's crisis of confidence.
